Since JReport Designer version 7.0, you can export report result to fax. If you want this feature enabled, you need to configure your running environment first.
Download Java Communications API (Version 2.0) from the web sites http://www.jinfonet.com/download/third_party_tool/JavaCommAPIV2_Win32.zip (for Windows) and http://www.jinfonet.com/download/third_party_tool/JavaCommAPIV2_Solaris.zip (for Solaris), and put the files in the specified locations:
- For Windows
File Name Location comm.jar %JavaHome%\jre\lib\extjavax.comm.properties %JavaHome%\jre\libWin32Com.dll %JavaHome%\jre\bin
- For Solaris
File Name Location comm.jar %JavaHome%/jre/lib/extjavax.comm.properties %JavaHome%/jre/liblibSolarisSerialParallel.so LD_LIBRARY_PATH
To fax the report result to other people, on the File menu, point to Export, and then click To Fax.
Before you can fax the report result, you must have you modem configured; otherwise a warning message will display when you try to export to fax.
To configure the modem,
- on the File menu, click Options; or bring out Catalog Browser, on the toolbar, click the Options button.
- On the Report Option dialog, click the Internet tab, set up the options in the Export To Fax panel.
Once you finish the modem configuration, on the File menu, point to Export, and then click To Fax. The Export to Fax dialog appears.
Quality
JReport Designer provides you three levels of quality to choose: Best, Normal, and Fast.Include Cover Sheet
Sepcifies whether to send a cover in the fax.The following items are the informations displayed on the fax cover sheet.
Fax Number
The fax numer of the recipient.Phone Number
The phone number of the sender.To
Information of the recipient.From
Information of the sender.Company
Information of the company.Date
The day on which the fax is sent.Re
The subject of the fax.Comments
The comments of the fax.Urgent
Specifies whether the fax is urgent or not.For Review
Only to view the fax is OK.Please Comment
Comments is needed for the fax.Please Reply
A reply is needed for the fax.Do the above options according to your own requirements, and then click OK on the Export to Fax dialog to dismiss the dialog and send the fax.
