Cohesia has chosen to embed JReport into the Cohesia 8.1 application, an enterprise application that eliminates ambiguity in the flow-down of detailed product requirements through manufacturing supply chains.

Cohesia 8.1 is an automated tool that collects and delivers information concerning requirements in the manufacturing process. This information was once handed down from one employee to another at a manufacturing plant.

As more manufacturing jobs are distributed worldwide, there is a need for a systematic and automated approach. A powerful reporting tool is critical to provide a strong capability to format and deliver this manufacturing information.

Cohesia opted to embed JReport after identifying its need for robust reporting and deciding it was more cost effective to purchase an offering rather than build it in-house. The company evaluated numerous offerings and selected JReport for two primary reasons: its Java architecture was highly compatible with Cohesia's offering; and JReport's security module was secure and flexible enough to meet the rigorous security requirements involved in integrating the product into client companies' supply chain portals.

Jinfonet has announced the release of JReport 8, a powerful new product for operational business intelligence (BI). Packed with over 200 new enhancements, JReport 8 lets developers build information presentation and analytics directly into Java EE applications and business processes that enable operational BI.

Operational BI puts critical, real-time data into the hands of people on the front lines of business. While previous versions of JReport provided access to data, JReport 8 takes it further by allowing users to go deeper into information so they can better answer critical business questions.

JReport retrieves information from data sources such as databases, XML data sources, Java objects and Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), and can quickly present personalized information to thousands of users.

JReport 8 can retrieve information on demand, on a schedule or in response to event triggers. In addition, these techniques can be used together for maximum flexibility. It doesn't require the heavy lifting of a traditional BI tool, yet it provides powerful analytics to aid businesses in making intelligent decisions.
