Charts that are exported from JReport to Excel can now be tied to supporting data in the spreadsheet. Therefore, when the data in the spreadsheet is modified, the chart is updated automatically. In previous releases, charts created by an export operation were not tied to data that was also exported and had to be associated manually using Excel.
Only charts that meet the following requirements can be dynamic after exporting to Excel:
- The chart must reside in a report that contains a banded object or table that uses the same dataset as the chart.
- The banded object or table must also be included when exporting the chart to Excel.
- The DBFields and aggregations on which the chart is based must exist in the banded object or table component.
