JReport Server Live

JReport Server Live enhances JReport Server by delivering robust ad hoc, self-service reporting and analytics based on dynamic cubing technology and business views of data sources. Designed as an extension to JReport Server, JReport Server Live contains the same high performance Java EE scalability and management while powering a rich, self-service reporting experience. JReport Server Live offers:

• Multi-dimensional cube technology that empowers business analysts, enabling them to understand and explore data, similar to using an OLAP tool
• Self-service reporting allows end users to interact with cubes using functionalities such as slice-and-dice, expand/collapse hierarchies, pivot and drill up/down/across commands
• Web 2.0 Rich Internet Application (RIA) to view, modify and create reports using pre-defined Business Views of data
• Users can create multi-component reports containing charts, crosstabs and tables and either save the template for scheduling or run the report in JReport Server Live
• Users can view reports in the browser using scrollbars and component navigation controls rather than printed page level controls

Making use of business views and business/report cubes removes the obstacle of a business user trying to understand the data's physical structure, thus making self-service reporting easy: they can build and modify reports without worrying about the underlying data source. As a result, the business user has a business-oriented view of the data that they can manipulate to fit their needs
