Tokyo, Japan, – Database Communications, Inc. (DCi), a Tokyo-based company that provides DBMS products and consulting services, has signed an exclusive agreement with Jinfonet Software to distribute JReport throughout Japan. DCi will be marketing a version of JReport translated entirely into Japanese, taking advantage of JReport’s innovative National Language Support feature.

“We’re very excited to work with Jinfonet as sole Japanese distributors of JReport products,” said Hideki Shimazu, President & CEO of Database Communications, Inc. “Our extensive experience in database systems and consulting shows a deep need for a tool to provide strong, cross-platform reporting capability. JReport fills that need in a way that will deliver long-term value to our customers.”

Jinfonet and DCi have worked together on various projects for more than ten years, and now they have teamed up to offer Java-based reporting to the Japanese IT market.

“Our team has evaluated JReport Designer and JReport Enterprise Server with Japanese characters and was very pleased with the National Language Support,” said Yuki Hamaoka, DCi’s VP Engineering. “We’ve created reports with headings and data in Japanese without any problems. And how easy to use!”

With its release of JReport 4.1 in April of 2002, Jinfonet continues to make important advancements in enterprise reporting, adding significant improvements in performance, along with several new features, to what is already the most robust and feature-rich reporting tool for Java.

“We at Jinfonet are very happy to be a partner with DCi in providing advanced report delivery to the Japanese market,” said Dr. Bing Yao, President of Jinfonet. “This agreement reflects Jinfonet’s commitment to providing businesses around the world with the high performance and reporting innovations that have become so critical in enterprise-level application development.”
