Rockville, MD – Jinfonet Software and Mxi Technologies have announced the formation of a strategic partnership that will combine Jinfonet’s advancements in Web-based report delivery with Mxi’s expertise in aviation maintenance systems. Under the terms of the agreement, Mxi will embed JReport, Jinfonet’s 100 percent Java reporting software, within their aviation maintenance management software, Maintenix, to be offered to airlines by Mxi. The agreement also provides for Mxi to distribute JReport Designer, Jinfonet’s report design tool, to their airline customers.

Maintenix is a comprehensive system designed specifically for the aviation industry to provide maintenance, engineering, inventory and operations functionality. Maintenix helps users handle the complex set of interconnected activities involved with managing and maintaining aviation assets. The integration of JReport will enable Maintenix users to access a broad range of standard reports, pertaining to areas such as maintenance planning and scheduling, engineering change order management, life usage tracking, fault and reliability tracking, diagnostics, and regulatory compliance, and deliver them over the Web to their clients.

In addition, JReport Designer will provide Mxi’s customers with an intuitive report design interface with which they can customize reports, to fit their own needs and environments.

“We needed a reporting solution that was fully J2EE compliant, one that gave us the most complete range of report authoring functionality and it needed to seamlessly integrate with our product for transaction report management and launching,” said Marc Lennox, Manager of Strategic Technology at Mxi. “We looked closely at a number of major reporting packages, and we picked JReport because it offers the only total solution that addresses our three objectives. And on top of this, Jinfonet’s JReport is one of the highest quality, most soundly engineered J2EE products we’ve seen – period.”

JReport combines ease of use with portability and scalability and puts sophisticated reporting functionality at the user’s fingertips. It takes full advantage of J2EE unified standards and modular components that allow for quick and seamless integration into any enterprise architecture. Written entirely in Java, JReport consists of two modules: JReport DesignerTM, an Interactive Development Environment (IDE) for designing and testing reports; and JReport Enterprise ServerTM, a high-performance, J2EE report deployment server that can be integrated seamlessly into any servlet-enabled Web application server.

“Teaming with Mxi to add advanced reporting capability to their Maintenix product demonstrates Jinfonet’s commitment to provide our customers with report delivery technology that works across major architectures,” said Shuyan Liu, Vice President of Engineering for Jinfonet. “It is also a testament to the power and flexibility of JReport.”
