Actimize Case Manager 3.0 Leverages JReport to Help Customers Manage Operational Risk
Actimize, a leading global provider of fraud prevention, anti-money laundering (AML) and regulatory compliance solutions, announced recently that it has embedded JReport in Actimize Case Manager
3.0 to provide sophisticated reporting for financial institutions.

Actimize began using JReport for reporting about a year ago, and Version 3.0 of Actimize Case Manager is the second version of the product that includes JReport for embedded reporting. Actimize selected JReport for its combination of Java EE architecture, ease-of-use and reporting flexibility.

Actimize Case Manager 3.0 leverages JReport to help compliance officers and business managers understand patterns in organizational, activity and distribution trend statistics to enable fine-tuning of the analytic rules for continuous improvement in their detection efficiencies. Government Agencies Benefit from Sophisticated Reporting Solutions Jointly Developed by Jinfonet and RABA Technologies
Jinfonet and RABA Technologies recently announced that the companies are working together on a joint public-sector opportunity. RABA has more than 11 years experience working with the government on some of its most challenging problems. Its staff regularly provides public-sector programs and agencies with multidisciplinary expertise related to systems engineering, software development, systems integration, visualization, and research and development.

Using JReport, government agencies can design, manage and deliver interactive reports that extract critical business information from enterprise applications and present it to all business users who need it. ANNOUNCING: JReport 7.3 is NOW AVAILABLE

Jinfonet Software announced the release of JReport 7.3. This new version of the market-leading Java reporting offering provides numerous improvements to the product's usability, information delivery capabilities and enterprise-class embedded reporting.

Topping the list of new features are: enhancements to make the report designer's job easier; stronger support for report localization; and improvements to strengthen JReport as an enterprise-class reporting solution. These enhancements help make JReport 7.3 the most complete embedded reporting solution for large enterprise deployments.

JReport 7.3 includes many enhancements to the product's usability and performance. One enhancement that will be of special interest to existing customers is the redesigned product documentation and enhanced help system. The JReport Help System now supports full text searches and graphical navigation through multi-level indexes and tables of content. The HTML-based system continues to be cross-platform and browser independent. It is designed to provide quality content targeted to the specific user of JReport (report developer, report administrator, application programmer, and report end user). Other priority enhancements include:

  • Enhanced National Language Support - provides visual tools for report designers so they can visualize report layout in other languages prior to publishing

JReport Tech Tip: Catalog Reference Tables

The Catalog Reference Table provides a great way to keep track of where and how the resources in a catalog are being used. You simply right-click on the resource entry in the Catalog Browser's Data tab, and choose Reference Entities. The other catalog resources that reference the original resource are listed. For example, in the Tutorial catalog, the DBField named Orders_OrderID is referenced in 3 queries as follows:

By knowing where a resource is being used you can accurately assess the impact on your reports before changing the resource.

The Catalog Reference Table also makes it easier to rename resources in the catalog. After renaming a resource, JReport Designer prompts you to update each reference to the resource, which eliminates "missing resource" errors on the report.

Catalog Reference Tables are not automatically built. You must designate the resource types that you want to include in the reference table. The following resources can be added to the Catalog Reference Table: connections (tables, views, procedures, and SQLs), user data sources, hierarchical data sources, queries, formulas, summaries, parameters, and reports. Be sure to use the Refresh References command when you modify a resource.
