What is Data Governance?
Data governance refers to your organization’s business standards for data availability, definitions, integrity, security, and other standards your organization deems important for quality control. Many organizations drive data governance initiatives to improve data quality or they are mandated by regulations to have a standard of governance.
Almost everyone and everything that touches your corporate data influences data governance. It includes the people using the data, your IT department, and the processes that went into play for handling your data. This is why it is important to establish policies for users interacting with data and how processes should be carried out to ensure maximal data quality.
